An award-winning filmmaker, musician, and actor, Phillip Abraham is most recognized as the writer/director of the feature film COVER ME (Danny Trejo, Jesse Metcalfe). He wrote and co-directed the documentary VOLVIENDO: THE ROOTS OF THE LATIN SEX TRADE, winning the MTV/UNICEF Anti-Trafficking Award. Before acting in shows like HBO’s BALLERS and ABC’s GOOD TROUBLE, Phillip wrote five fully-produced feature films and traveled to 20 countries, aiming to use storytelling as a way of connecting people to challenging and unique perspectives. He’s currently directing the musical feature film WHERE WERE YOU, while acting and writing it together with wife, Leah Bateman.
Having written four produced feature films and regularly helped develop projects at Alfre Woodard's production company, Phillip loves sitting down to break story with others, whether they're looking to hire a screenwriter or receive feedback for a script they already have.
Phillip has directed four feature-length films, most notably the 2021 Drama COVER ME starring Danny Trejo and Jesse Metcalfe. He made the documentary VOLVIENDO: A JOURNEY TO THE ROOTS OF THE LATIN SEX TRADER, and is currently directing a musical that stars his wife, Leah Bateman.
Phillip's first passion was acting. Having moved to LA at the age of 19 to pursue it, he's had supporting roles in films like LAGGIES with Keira Knightly, acted across Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in HBO's BALLERS and most recently appeared in GOOD TROUBLE on Freeform.
